We did it again! 

MARLENKA Honey Cake with Walnuts, Honey Nuggets and Gluten-Free Honey Cake with Walnuts, have been awarded a 1-star by Great Taste, the largest and most trusted food and drink awards on the planet. Out of 5,383 products worldwide to receive a Great Taste 1-, 2- or 3-star accolade on Tuesday 21 September, Honey Cake with Walnuts, Honey Nuggets and Gluten-Free Honey Cake with Walnuts will now be able to display the unmistakable black and gold logo, a stamp of excellence that is recognised by retailers and consumers alike.

"This is visual feast for the eyes. It has a great balance of sweetness and flavour. It has a light but chewy texture that cuts well - truly delicious. The layers are intricate and the honey delicate and the decoration complements the flavour and visual appeal."

"How beautiful - so cleverly and patiently made! It is very sweet but the honey really comes through and the bitterness from the walnuts helps balance this. A lovely example of a honey and walnut cake."

"This is a stunning cake to look at. It cuts very well to reveal distinct and even layers throughout. Very light and moist - lovely clean flavour. Not claggy. Very moreish. The balance of sweetness is perfect. The walnuts offering up savoury notes. The taste of this cake has met our expectations from its appearance. Delicious. The fact that is is also GF is even more impressive because you have retained lightness and the flour used isn't too gritty.  A lovely example of this cake."

"These are delightful and unusual. They look like chocolate truffles, but they have a distinctive and different taste, partly thanks to the honey but also the subtle spicing which hints at Eastern origin. They have a lovely melting quality and the filling is really creamy and again subtle."
